my guess would be IBM had the cheapest multi core chip at the time that they were designing the 360.
first of all the layer switch is like 99% unnoticeable if the media is placed on the disk properly, second blu-ray has layers as well. good thing you waisted you one bubble spouting nothing but bullsh!t.
you know what else is funny, before apple made the switch to intel chips they were running PowerPC chips much like what is in the ps3, they were even given the option by IBM to use cell chips in thier PC's and they passed saying that they werent powerfull enough when compared to intels chips... kinda funny when you hear all this BS about how the cell is super powered this and that. just kinda puts sony's hype in perspective. just my two cents.
looks neat. i wouldn't mind M$ taking some ideas from this. like take current friends list and the voice chat and then add in face mapping with the Live Vision cam to your character creation and wallah. they already have all the little bits and pieces in place all they need to do is make it 3D. but kudos to sony if they actually get this up and running. i wonder what EA thinks about this, seeing as it is basically a free Sims type thing.

correct you cant download while playing games online. this is to make sure ingame lag is minimal or non existant. however you can download and play in all non-online games.
that would cause all the games already out and in development not to function properly. so no, they cant go back now without causing major problems
motorstorm and resistance are not AAA titles, they might be good games but they are not AAA titles. games like FF or MGS are AAA titles and those wont be coming out till 2008. also VF5 is coming to the 360 and it has been said to be improved, also not a AAA title though.
as for the downloadable content you have to be kidding me. there is like 100x more things to download on live that blow all of that away. i mean even a launch live title, geometry wars, kills any of that. but y...
again sony may have sheer numbers on their side but they still poop out more crap than gold.

yeah instead SNE is doing a hardware revision only 3 months after the thing launched basically cutting the 95% BC down to 25%. where as MS is doing a color change (oooh) and adding a optional upgradable hdd that can be used on ANY 360 out there. the only change they MIGHT make hardware wise is the HDMI which MOST people wont need as component is 100% capable of doing 1080p for games.

the reason is because the xbox is, for all gaming purposes about equal if not slightly better than the ps3, only the xbox is $200 cheaper and has way more games and better online. only an fanboy or someone that wants to watch blu-ray movies would buy a ps3 if they only had enough money to buy one system.
these are direct signal feeds. the only time these images are ever on a display are when you are watching them. it has nothing to do with how the "tv is calibrated" they arent taking a camera and playing these things on a tv and recording that. WHY DONT PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THIS!?
